Oregon Star WR Evan Stewart Suffers Major Injury Ahead of 2025 Season

The Oregon Ducks received some brutal injury news this week, with multiple reports showing that star wide receiver, Evan Stewart, would miss a majority, if not all of the upcoming 2025 college football season.

According to multiple reports, Stewart suffered a knee injury during offseason training this week, and his recovery would last several months, likely holding him out late into the season, if not all the way into early next year.

Rumors started swirling of this injury on Thursday night when a social media post from 'College Football Headlines' starting circulating on X. Since then, a number of college football reporters have confirmed the news.

This is a very tough development for the Ducks. After losing receiver Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden to the NFL this year, plus tight end Terrance Ferguson, Stewart was projected to be the clear-cut No. 1 option in the receiving game.

In his one season with Oregon in 2024, Stewart caught 48 passes for 613 yards and five touchdowns.

Oregon will now likely turn to true freshman WR Dakorien Moore as their No. 1, which is not a great place to be in. While Moore was the No. 1 ranked WR in the 2025 class, and was expected to play a major role in the offense, it's not great to have to rely on a true freshman as your main target.

The Ducks also have a number of other options, including former 5-star Jurrion Dickey, and guys like Kyler Kasper, Malik Benson, Justius Lowe, Jeremiah McClellan, and Gary Bryant Jr. Oregon also has tight end Kenyon Sadiq, who many project to be one of the best TE's in the nation this year.
