After a college career that included two national titles at Georgia and a productive final season at Kentucky, linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson is beginning his professional journey. Surprisingly, the former All-American went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, despite carrying late-round grades from several scouting reports.
The Green Bay Packers quickly moved to sign Dumas-Johnson as an undrafted free agent, offering the experienced defender a chance to earn a roster spot ahead of the 2025 season.

In Green Bay, Dumas-Johnson joins a linebacking corps anchored by returning starters Edgerrin Cooper and Quay Walker, along with experienced depth pieces. His connection to Walker, a former Georgia teammate during the Bulldogs’ 2021 national title ru,n could ease his transition to the professional level.
Although established veterans are ahead of him on the depth chart, Dumas-Johnson's arrival addresses a need for developmental talent within the unit. His versatility to line up both inside and outside offers valuable flexibility for the Packers’ defensive scheme.

Over 49 collegiate games, Dumas-Johnson accumulated 192 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks. His immediate impact at Kentucky, where he led the team in tackles after transferring, highlighted his football IQ, lateral movement skills, and consistent tackling ability.
While his undrafted status presents a tougher path, the Packers are adding a player with a strong foundation and the potential to contribute over time. Dumas-Johnson projects as a likely candidate for the practice squad, where continued development could eventually lead to a more significant role within Green Bay’s defense.
