The Alabama Crimson Tide's College Football Playoff hopes were essentially dashed when the program suffered an embarrassing 3-24 loss at the hands of the unranked Oklahoma Sooners this past Saturday.

Kalen DeBoer's Alabama squad looked helpless in the blowout defeat as quarterback Jalen Milroe threw three interceptions.

This SEC defeat marked the Crimson Tide's third loss of the season. Before Saturday, Alabama hadn't put together a three-loss season since 2010.

ESPN SEC analyst Paul Finebaum didn't hold back when discussing the Crimson Tide's shortcomings.

“Let me cut to the chase. It was simply inexcusable," Finebaum said on The Matt Barrie Show. "And you can blame anyone you want, but you would be smart to start at the very top, because that team did not look prepared. They didn’t look focused. They didn’t look like they had a clue what they were getting into."

Finebaum is completely discounting Alabama as a "legitimate playoff team."

"I know what my good friend Heather Dinich is saying that there is a path for Alabama. And maybe there will be, but the real question is why? I don’t understand how Alabama can be considered a legitimate playoff team," Finebaum continued.

Finebaum went on to say that Alabama looked "completely clueless" against the Sooners on Saturday.

Alabama will finish out its regular-season schedule with an Iron Bowl rivalry matchup against the Auburn Tigers. Saturday's game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. EST in Tuscaloosa.
