The Penn State Nittany Lions were eliminated from the College Football Playoff, following a 27-24 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl.

The matchup between two of the most storied programs in college football history featured a few intriguing NFL draft prospects, but only one has been viewed as a potential top-five pick in 2025.

Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter was playing in his third season with the Nittany Lions in 2024. As the season came to a close, Carter had a major decision to make: enter the NFL draft or play his senior season at Penn State.

On Friday, Carter made his final choice. According to On3Sports, Carter will forego his senior season and enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

Carter finished the 2024 season with the Nittany Lions recording two forced fumbles, four pass deflections, 12 sacks and 68 tackles.

In the matchup against Notre Dame, Carter posted one sack and five tackles.

Carter capped his productive playing career with the Nittany Lions producing a total of one interception, five forced fumbles, 13 pass deflections, 23 sacks and 173 tackles.

According to NFL draft expert Mel Kiper Jr., Carter is the No. 2 player in the draft, behind Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
