Penn State Football may be closing in on adding another high-caliber recruit to its 2025 recruiting class.

On Tuesday afternoon, 247 Sports recruiting expert Tom Loy placed a crystal ball prediction for the Nittany Lions to land 4-star running back Alvin Henderson.

Rated as the No. 8 running back in the 247 Sports composite, the Alabama native holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Miami and others.

Alvin Henderson Would be Major Recruiting Win for Penn State Football

Going down to Alabama to reel in a top 100 recruit would be an impressive power move by Penn State running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider, but that’s why he’s one of the best recruiters in the nation.

There is an interesting dynamic to this prediction by Loy.

If the Nittany Lions land Henderson, that’ll give them three running back commits in the 2025 class, as Henderson would join 4-star Kiandrea Barker and 3-star Tiqwai Hayes.

In today’s recruiting landscape, the odds of all three actually signing with Penn State Football is not that high, so there’s nothing wrong with stacking talent at the position. Especially in the transfer portal era, with head coaches forced to “recruit” their own roster and star players each offseason.

Likewise, Penn State Football will also likely lose its top two running backs after this season in Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, so the need for depth is there.

Penn State currently has 11 commits in the 2025 class, which ranks seventh in the nation.
