Penn State Lands Oklahoma State Transfer Armstrong Nnodim

Penn State Football has gotten it’s third non-Iowa State transfer. Today, former Oklahoma State Defensive End, Armstrong Nnodim announced his commitment to Penn State.

Nnodim is a redshirt freshman who carries 3 years of eligibility. Moreover, he is listed as the 61st best Edge Rusher in the transfer portal according to Rivals.

The first season Armstrong Nnodim was on campus in Stillwater, he medically redshirted. Unfortunately, an injury played a role in sidelining him for that season. However, In his second season with the Cowboys, Nnodim appeared in all 12 games of their tumultuous season. In those twelve games, Nnodim logged eleven total tackles, 1 sack, and 5 Quarterback hurries.

As a product of Mesquite, Texas, Nnodim had offers from Memphis, Buffalo, UTSA, and several others before choosing Oklahoma State. He was rated as a 3-star prospect.

How Armstrong Nnodim Could Crack Starting Rotation

For Penn State, there should only be more moves coming in order to beef up the defensive line.

Additionally, Nnodim’s size makes him versatile. With Max Granville and Yvan Kemajou set to return Defensive End is not that thin for Penn State. However, Defensive Tackle is thin. With Nnodim being 6’2, 290 maybe new D-Line coach Ikaika Malloe chooses to beef him up and deploy him on the interior.

Regardless, the Nittany Lions have begun retooling the defensive line.
