With his two fumble recoveries in the first half, Curtis Jacobs became the first Penn State player since 1991 to do so.

It was Mark D’Onofrio who last did that in November 1991 against Temple.

Jacobs was flying on the field against the Hawkeyes making three tackles in addition to the fumble recoveries in the first half.

His fumble recovery on the punt helped set up the first touchdown of the game. Drew Allar found Khalil Dinkins in the end zone to put PSU up 10-0.

The play of Jacobs and the defense is what held Iowa to 63 total yards and only two first downs in the first half.
