At cornerback, Washington has some significant attrition heading into 2026. Ephesians Prysock started all 26 games during his time with the Huskies and has declared for the NFL Draft. Tacario Davis, though hindered by injury, started all seven games he played for Washington this year and has also declared for the draft. Leroy Bryant, who was expected to compete for an open starting role on the depth chart, entered the transfer portal.
These departures result in rising sophomore Dylan Robinson as the only true cornerback who will return more than 30 snaps in 2026. Of course, there’s Rahshawn Clark, who officially started five games this past season. But his role was primarily at slot, where he lined up for 70% of his snaps. Clark only played outside cornerback on 16 plays in 2025. Should Clark elevate to the everyday starter in the slot, the Husky defensive staff might turn to the transfer portal to fill the experience void opposite Robinson at outside corner. These are a few players who could fit the mold.
Possible CB Targets for Washington
Elijah Reed – Akron
The Washington coaching staff places a high value on length in the secondary. Its two 6’-4” cornerbacks are off to the next level, but former Akron corner
Elijah Reed can step in with size. At 6’-3”, Reed would match Robinson in height while providing experience on the back end. Reed enrolled at Kentucky out of high school in 2022 before transferring to Akron prior to the 2024 season, looking for a better opportunity. He got it, starting six of nine games played that season. But it was the 2025 season where Reed took his game to the next level.
The Louisville, Kentucky native started all 12 regular-season games for the Zips this past season at outside cornerback. On the field for 580 total snaps, he was targeted 40 times, allowing just 23 catches for 205 yards. That’s an average just shy of nine yards allowed per reception. Reed gave up only 79 yards after the catch all season, an average of just 3.4 yards after the catch allowed per reception. The former Akron corner had the second-best coverage grade on the team according to Pro Football Focus, and allowed only one touchdown in coverage. Reed also had two picks and four pass breakups in 2025.
The challenge in recruiting Reed, however, would be his lack of West Coast ties. There aren’t any obvious recruiting affiliations with the lengthy corner. But the former three-star out of Kentucky received offers from Purdue and Illinois of the Big Ten during his high school recruitment. Reed has one year of eligibility remaining.
Kyon Loud – Montana
Sophomore Montana cornerback Kyon Loud is entering the transfer portal after playing 20 games for the Grizzlies in his career. The Richmond, California native played in 13 of the team’s 14 games as a true freshman a season ago. In 2025, Loud earned the starting cornerback role, starting all seven games he played. He missed time due to a shoulder injury that he suffered during the fourth game of the season. But Loud returned for the FCS Playoffs and allowed just one catch on eight targets in the final three games of the season. He was on the field for 318 defensive snaps in 2025.
Loud allowed the lowest catch rate among all Big Sky cornerbacks this year at just 32.3%. The sophomore was targeted 31 times on the year, giving up 10 catches. Loud did not allow a touchdown all season in coverage, and only let up 44 yards after the catch. That’s an average of 4.4 yards after the catch allowed per reception. Like Reed, Loud has the statistics of a lockdown corner in coverage. The former Montana Grizzly had four pass breakups this season with 25 tackles.
Should he make the jump from the FCS to the Power Four in the FBS, Loud would also bring quality length to the cornerback room at Washington. He’s listed at 6’-2” and 175 pounds, and the coaching staff in Missoula considered him one of their most impactful players not just on defense, but on the entire team. Loud has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Smith Snowden – Utah
247Sports is reporting that former Utah cornerback
Smith Snowden is receiving interest from several programs, including Washington. The site ranks him as the third-best cornerback currently in the transfer portal. Snowden has played 36 games in Salt Lake City over three seasons with 92 tackles and four interceptions, including a pick-six. This past season, he led the Utes with nine pass breakups on defense, starting all 13 games. In total, Snowden has started 24 games at cornerback with a significant portion of that action in the slot.
In 2024, Snowden played 85% of his snaps out of the slot corner position. That number dropped to 47% in 2025 as he lined up at outside corner on nearly 44% of his snaps. His increased role on the outside is something to consider, as he’d likely be joining the Husky cornerback room as an outside cornerback.
That’s assuming, however, that Clark maintains his spot on the inside at nickel. The Husky coaching staff maintained that Clark has the skill set to play both inside and outside, and he did so for much of the offseason leading up to last Fall. But in-season, Clark was primarily a nickelback. Snowden is listed at 5’-10” and 185 pounds compared to Clark’s 6’-0” and 195-pound frame.
Snowden will bring significant experience to whichever team lands him out of the transfer portal. He’s played almost 1,400 snaps in his career, having been targeted 133 times. Last season, teams threw to Snowden’s side of the field 58 times, and he allowed 26 receptions. He allowed two touchdowns and grabbed two interceptions in coverage. He’ll have one season of eligibility remaining.
