Predicting the final Notre Dame 2026 offensive class following the Fighting Irish wrapping up official visits
Michael Caterina-Imagn Images

Notre Dame football has just finished up their official visits for the month of June, and that means that the 2026 recruiting class is mostly now in decision making mode. Head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish staff are in position to sign their best recruiting class so far in his tenure. How things shake out the next few weeks will determine just how good it can be.

On the offensive side of the football, the class is mostly done but there are a few key positon groups with top targets left on the board. The wide receiver position is one that will definitely have the attention of Irish fans down the stretch, and rightfully so. Here is my prediction for what the final offensive class for Notre Dame will look like.

BACKFIELD

It is pretty hilarious that the “boring position group” to talk about is one with arguably the best running back duo Notre Dame would sign in quite some time. The tandem of Javian Osborne and Jonaz Walton could be dynamic. Add in quarterback Noah Grubbs, and the backfield has a chance to be quite good for the foreseeable future. The fact that this group consists of players from Texas, Georgia, and Florida is pretty telling.

QB Noah Grubbs - Lake Mary (Fla.) High School

RB Javian Osborne - Forney (Texas) High School

RB Jonaz Walton - Carrollton (Ga.) Central

PASS CATCHERS

After some early question marks surrounding wide receiver recruiting, it does appear that there is a bad answer on the way. The Fighting Irish have been trending extremely well with Texas star pass catcher Kaydon Finley, and their biggest hurdle was a return visit to Texas this past weekend for the legacy. Notre Dame has weathered the storm, and I’m now willing to predict Finley into the class. This is would be the biggest recruiting win for wide receiver coach Mike Brown, by a landslide.

I still like Notre Dame for both tight ends Evan Jacobson and Preston Fryzel. The latter makes his college decision later today, while Jacobson is still sorting through his final group. This would be a really intriguing developmental group with a lot of upside. The staff is still pursuing Kansas star Ian Premer, but I’m not ready to make a prediction for the Irish.

The last target that most will ask about is Lone Star wideout Brayden Robinson. This one is, and has been, a Notre Dame versus Miami battle. It’s very possible that the Irish win out but there’s no chance that they bat .1000 down the stretch, right? Right?

WR Dylan Faison - Boca Raton (Fla.) St. Andrews School

WR Bubba Frazier - Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military School

WR Kaydon Finley - Aledo (Texas) High School

WR Devin Fitzgerald - Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep

TE Preston Fyzel - Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic

TE Evan Jacobson - Waukee (Iowa) High School

OFFENSIVE LINE

Could Notre Dame really take six offensive lineman in the class? It sure looks that way. Most thought they would stop after landing high upside Pennsylvania offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh, but their pursuit of Charlie Thom hasn’t wavered. This is a toolsy class that could end up being the best under offensive line coach Joe Rudolph.

Here is my projected final offensive line class.

OT Grayson McKeogh - Glenside (Pa.) La Salle College

OT Gregory Patrick - Portage (Mich.) Northern

OT Charlie Thom - Avon (Conn.) Old Farms

OL Tyler Merrill - Mechanicsburg (Pa.) Cumberland Valley

OL Ben Nichols - Davison (Mich.) High School

OL Sullivan Garvin - Allegan (Mich.) High School
