With the NFL Draft right around the corner and the NFL Combine less than a day away, draft experts are refining their rankings before the big day. While they will surely change again after the combine, the trends are always worth keeping an eye on.

Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers was projected as the top player in the draft at the position to start the year, but injuries derailed parts of his season and saw him fall out of the first round of the draft.

However, despite his injuries, Ewers managed to have his best collegiate campaign as he threw for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions on a 65.8 CMP%.

The 6-foot-2 210-pound Southland, Texas native found himself seventh on ESPN's Mel Kiper's quarterback rankings earlier in the month with Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart, Will Howard, Jalen Milroe, and Kyle McCord all above the former top prospect in the nation

As the month of February has gone on, and the combine has drawn ever closer, Ewers has seen a rise in his spot on the positional rankings, and that has become even more evident in ESPN's Matt Miller's latest rankings

Ewers comes in at fourth on Miller's list with Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, and Jaxson Dart ahead of him, and Will Howard one spot behind him. Despite being fourth in the positional rankings, Ewers is the first quarterback on Miller's list to not crack the top 50 overall draft prospects, but that could very well change post-combine.

Regardless, Ewers' talent is undeniable, and if he can find a way to escape the injury bug, he could very well be one of the best quarterbacks in the draft and an absolute steal for whichever franchise drafts him.
