Miami Dolphins quarterback Quinn Ewers is a proud member of a five-person family.
His father, Curtis Ewers, is a sports enthusiast and a visionary businessman who helped train his son throughout the early part of his career. His mother, Kristen Ewers, is an emotional anchor for Quinn Ewers because she is a primary school teacher who taught him multiple important values to practice on and off the field.
His sisters, Kailey Ewers and Teddy-Raye Ewers, play a big part in the former Texas quarterback’s life because of the unconditional love and support they show him.
On Tuesday, Teddy-Raye Ewers announced her commitment to the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, to play for its Division I women’s volleyball program.
“Beyond blessed and excited to announce my commitment to play D1 volleyball and continue my academic journey at the University of Incarnate Word,” she posted on her Instagram account. “I can’t wait for the next chapter! Go Cardinals! ❤️❤️.”
Her big brother reacted to the announcement.
“Let’s go, TR! Big time! Dreams to Reality,” the Dolphins quarterback wrote.
During his time with the Texas Longhorns from 2022-24, Ewers said he used NIL money he received to pay his mother a salary, according to an article from Bleacher Report.
“I get to pay my mom a salary, which is nice, just cause you know, all the effort and work they put into me growing up,” he said during an interview in January. “I mean we were living in south Texas, they both quit their jobs and moved up to Southlake.”
“For them and all the work that they put into me and my two sisters is what I give back. I can’t describe how thankful I am for everything they do for me.”
Ewers was drafted by the Dolphins with the 231st overall pick in the seventh round of April’s NFL draft. He is third on the team's depth chart behind starter Tua Tagovailoa and backup Zach Wilson.
