Quinn Ewers isn’t expected to hear his name called in the opening round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but that hasn’t stopped him from making it known where he hopes to land.

Once viewed as a potential top overall pick earlier in the college football season, the former Texas Longhorns quarterback is now projected to go somewhere between the second and fourth round. And while teams like the Saints and Steelers could be in the mix, Ewers has his eye on a different destination entirely.

During a recent conversation with NFL Network’s Rich Eisen, Ewers spoke candidly about one specific NFL franchise—and the coach he’d love to play under.

Ewers Praises Pete Carroll, Cites Competitive Culture

“Coach Carroll would be awesome,” Ewers said when asked about the possibility of playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. “He’s always talking about ‘compete, compete, compete.’ I think he says that word 100 times a day.”

Ewers added that the competitive mindset promoted by Carroll fits perfectly with how he already approaches football. “It doesn’t matter what you are doing… if you are in the building, you’re either competing or not,” he said.

Statistically, Ewers turned in a solid junior season with Texas, throwing for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing nearly 66% of his passes. While veteran quarterback Geno Smith is expected to hold down the starting job in Las Vegas for now, Ewers could be seen as a potential successor.

Where he ultimately lands is still unknown—but one thing is clear: Ewers wouldn’t mind calling Vegas home.
