TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins have become the third duo of Ohio State players to each rush for over 1,000 yards in the same season.

In the recent national championship game, both Ohio State running backs achieved this milestone, marking the first time since 2013 that two Buckeyes have reached quadruple digits in rushing yards within the same season.

Back then, running back Carlos Hyde accumulated 1,521 yards, while quarterback Braxton Miller added 1,068 yards.

This achievement makes Henderson and Judkins just the second pair of running backs in Ohio State history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season, following in the footsteps of Archie Griffin (1,450 yards) and Pete Johnson (1,059 yards) in 1975.

Both players entered the national championship game needing fewer than 40 yards to hit the 1,000-yard mark. Henderson had 967 yards and 10 touchdowns on 132 carries, while Judkins had 960 yards and 12 touchdowns on 183 carries.

Henderson reached the milestone with a 37-yard run on seven carries in the first half. Judkins achieved his 1,000 yards on Ohio State’s second play of the second half with a 70-yard run, setting a record for the longest rush in CFP title game history.

Henderson has now rushed for over 1,000 yards in two seasons at Ohio State, having previously totaled 1,255 yards as a freshman in 2021. Judkins, meanwhile, has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in all three of his college seasons, with 1,565 yards as a freshman in 2022 and 1,158 yards as a sophomore in 2023 at Ole Miss.
