Running back Quinshon Judkins rose to stardom this season as a member of the National Champion Ohio State football team. However, before he was a Buckeye, Judkins spent the first two years of his college career in Oxford playing for Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.
On Tuesday, Judkins worked with NCAA.com to make his picks for the men's March Madness tournament bracket, and he made one choice that will both shock and upset his former fan base. The former Rebel chose San Diego State, a No. 11 seed who lost in the First Four to North Carolina, to defeat his old school, Ole Miss, a No. 6 seed, in the first round of the tournament.
Judkins burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2022 and finished his two-year stint on the Rebels with 2,725 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns. He also added 281 receiving yards and three touchdowns through the air.
When Judkins was on campus, the Ole Miss men's basketball team was not considered a high-powered program, but times have changed since he left Oxford. Chris Beard has his team peaking at the right time and with a battle-tested, senior-laden group, it should not surprise anyone to see this Rebels team make a deep tournament run.
Judkins is not the first, and certainly will not be the last person to disrespect the work that head coach Beard has done this year. It's time for Ole Miss to prove all of their doubters wrong in the tournament.
