The 2025 college football season is soon approaching and analysts across the country have begun sharing their predictions on the outcome of the season.

In the latest episode of "College GameDay" with Rece Davis and Pete Thamel, the two discussed some of the top teams in the nation.

During their discussion on the SEC, widely regarded as top conference in college football, Davis detailed his thoughts on LSU.

He mentioned LSU to be a "coach's graveyard" before Nick Saban's arrival to the program in 2000. Saban served as the head coach of the Tigers from 2000 to 2004.

During his time at LSU, Saban led the Tigers to 2003 national title as well as an SEC title in 2001 and 2003.

Davis commended Saban for his success at LSU, although the college football legend usually gets highlights for his accomplishments at Alabama.

"That's what I've always said about Nick," Davis said, per 'ESPN College GameDay podcast.' "After the accomplishments at Alabama, in terms of on-field accomplishments and all of that, the second biggest thing he did in this sport was that he fixed LSU, which had been a coach's graveyard for the better of half of the century."

Before Nick Saban, the LSU Tigers were led by several different names, including Charles McClendon, Paul Dietzel, Bernie Moore and more.

Last season, the LSU Tigers were led by Garrett Nussmeier and head coach Brian Kelly. The Tigers quarterback took over for previous Heisman Trophy winner, Jayden Daniels.

Nussmeier led LSU to a 9-4 record. While the Tigers pulled away with a winning season, following the loss of Daniels, Kelly hasn't made the impact on LSU that many thought he would.

The LSU Tigers hired Brian Kelly after his stint with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Since arriving at LSU, Kelly has strung together a 29-11 record.

LSU has struggled to compete against some of the top talent in the country, including Alabama and Texas A&M.
