The Bearcats football team filled its open special team coordinator role this week with Middle Tennessee State ST coordinator Luke Paschall. 247Sports's Matt Zenitz reported the expected hiring.

Cincinnati had been coaching the phase with a mix of the full staff during spring practices, mostly sticking to punt repetition, with little to no kickoff practice. Now they have a dedicated voice for the role.

He has coached the phase since 2014 in coordinating roles at Arkansas State, North Carolina, UMass, Louisiana, and the past two seasons at MTSU

The Blue Raiders had the 40th-ranked Pro Football Focus special teams grade in 2023 and ranked 118th during a rough 3-9 2024 season.
