A day after receiving an offer from Pitt, a former WPIAL defensive standout has put the Panthers in his top four.

On Wednesday, Pitt extended an offer to former Illinois defensive line transfer and Jeannette High School graduate Anthony Johnson. Today, Pete Nakos from On3 Sports is reporting that Johnson has narrowed his recruitment down to Pitt, Arkansas, Michigan State and Mississippi State.

In the past few days, Johnson reports that he’s also received offers from Georgia Tech, UAB and Kansas State. Johnson has already arranged a visit to Mississippi State on April 22nd.

Pitt is obviously interested in bringing in some experience to their 2024 defensive line after losing players such as Tyler Bentley, David Green and Devin Danielson to graduation and Deandre Jules to the transfer portal.

Last year, after transferring from Youngstown State and before eventually committing to Illinois, Johnson held other offers from Pitt, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Rutgers, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Houston and SMU.

Johnson has one season of eligibility remaining.
