Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck hasn't decided yet if he'll return to Athens for the 2024 season.
According a recent report from DawgNation, Beck is seeking a substantial amount of cash to return to Georgia for a fifth season.
Beck wants "upwards of $4 million" in NIL money to return to the Bulldogs in 2024, according to DawgNation.
From DawgNation: Beck has reportedly yet to determine if he wants to return for another season at Georgia or declare himself eligible for the NFL draft after leading the Bulldogs to a 12-1 season and No. 6 national ranking. Multiple sources have said an offer for Beck — UGA/NIL — has been in the works, with the rising fifth-year senior seeking upwards of $4 million.
Beck is viewed by some draft analysts as the No. 5 quarterback in the draft (if he chooses to declare).
A year ago, Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker was the fifth quarterback selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Hooker signed a rookie contract worth $5.7 million over four seasons.
It's easy to see why Beck would choose $4 million for one more season in Athens as opposed to taking a paycut to go to the NFL. Beck could also increase his draft stock with another big season at Georgia.
Seems like a no-brainer to me. Enjoy one more year of college, earn more cash, and increase potential future earnings. Beck would be foolish to pass up a $4 million deal (if it comes together) to return to Georgia.
