Report: Lincoln Riley Travels To Visit Top Transfer Portal Quarterback
Jason Parkhurst-USA TODAY Sports

Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans are now looking towards 2024. After a disappointing season, the team is already in offseason mode. One big question is the quarterback position as Caleb Williams is likely headed to the draft. Riley may already be trying to take care of it. A report surfaced that he traveled to see one of the top quarterbacks in the transfer portal, Will Howard.

Lincoln Riley Visits QB Will Howard

Howard has spent the last four years at Kansas State but decided this offseason to find a new home. In his four years, he has led the Wildcats offense to some great performances. In 34 games, he threw for 5,786 yards, 48 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions. He is one of many quarterbacks to enter the portal this year and USC is looking for someone to run their high-powered offense. It would be an attractive place to land as Riley’s quarterbacks have often put up Heisman-level stats.

2024 Move To The Big Ten

Everything is changing in college football in 2024. USC moves to the Big Ten along with a handful of other Pac-12 teams. They want to make sure that they can compete in the conference right away. A key part of that is getting a quarterback. With the transfer portal, getting a top-tier quarterback is a little easier as the portal has a plethora of options. Still, Riley needs to convince someone to come which seems doable seeing as USC is a desirable destination.

Has Lincoln Riley found his guy or is this one of many visits? This week was a flurry of news about entering the portal and I’m sure in the coming weeks we will begin to hear some landing spots.
