To say Saturday’s win over Maryland was personal to the Penn State football team would be putting it lightly. Not only is this the team that gifted the Nittany Lions with star defensive end Chop Robinson, but several players are from the area. The game was arguably the most meaningful for the entire defensive line on Saturday. As we all know how badly Chop Robinson wanted to play against his former team in his former stadium. Unfortunately, Robinson was listed as OUT on the availability report and missed the game. Following the matchup defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton took to social media to mock the Terrapins.
The 2020 season was one that many Penn State football fans want to forget. Losing to Indiana, Nebraska, and Maryland was horrible. But it’s funny how your actions after a win will be remembered for many years to come. In 2020, Maryland beat Penn State and posted the below graphic on social media by the Maryland football team that said, “You Were. We Are.”

Penn State football players keep their receipts. Following the 51-15 blowout win over Maryland Dani Dennis-Sutton brought that old graphic back up.

Keep in mind that Dennis-Sutton wasn’t even on the team during the 2020 season. He was just a junior in high school at that time. But he played his high school football at McDonogh School in Maryland. So, this game means more when he returns to the state he dominated for so many years.
No one can imagine the frustration, pain, and anger, that Chop Robinson had to deal with this week. This was likely the only time that he would return to his former stadium to play against his former team. Robinson missed the game but that didn’t stop his teammates from coming through for him.
After a sack in the 2nd half made by Penn State defensive end Adisa Isaac, he made a hand gesture holding up four fingers on each hand. Letting Chop Robinson know that play was for him. The defense dominated Maryland allowing less than 250 total yards of offense and negative 49 rushing yards. They knew how important this game was for Robinson and showed off for their brother.
