The Colorado Buffaloes were expected to have a bit of a rebuilding year with Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter among those leaving for the NFL.

Before the season, head coach Deion Sanders spent time away from the program due to an "aggressive form of bladder cancer."

In October, he then underwent a procedure to deal with blood clots after experiencing pain during the loss to TCU.

Despite all that, the lowly season for Colorado has created a stir, with some wondering when things will get fixed in Boulder.

Amid all the backlash, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III stood strong and showed support for the Colorado coach.

"When a coach has health complications they are given grace by the media and the public because they are understanding of what they are fighting through," Griffin said. "Deion Sanders has not been afforded that same empathy at Colorado this year. Despite being diagnosed with cancer, having his bladder removed and having a procedure in the middle of the season to alleviate blood clots, the tear downs of the man and his program have been relentless."

"The X’s and the O’s have to improve, but we can’t forget the human element of what has happened in Deion Sanders life this year," Griffin continued. "Coach Prime’s story was never meant to be perfect. It was meant to be powerful. And powerful it has been."

Griffin went on to describe the health issues, the struggles with Shedeur Sanders in the NFL, and Shilo Sanders also not being on an NFL roster, while saying Deion Sanders could've easily called it quits.

However, he has remained committed to the program, and Griffin made one final plea at the end of the post.

"Now is the time to stand tall with him."

With all of the health issues and roster changes, it has been a very taxing year for Deion Sanders and the Colorado program.

However, Griffin left no stone unturned as he showed support for the Buffaloes' head coach and asked fans to "stand tall" with him.

At the end of last season, Colorado gave Sanders a five-year contract extension worth $54 million.
