Ryan Day, Ohio State Players Involved In Golf Cart Crash After Winning National Title

It appears the only thing that could stop Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night was a golf cart.

Ohio State may have made things uncomfortable for its fan base on Monday, but Will Howard ice the game with a 56-yard completion to Jeremiah Smith in the fourth quarter. Notre Dame made a valiant effort in the second half, but its defense just couldn't contain Ohio State's most explosive player with the game on the line.

After celebrating their victory onstage at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Buckeyes took a brief trip to the podium backstage. Unfortunately, that trip had to happen on foot.

A woman driving a golf cart with Day, Howard and a few others crashed into a wall while trying to make a turn in the tunnel. Thankfully, no one was hurt. It did seem like Day was a bit thrown off though by this accident.

Unsurprisingly, this incident was caught on camera. It didn't take long for people to joke about it.

"In her defense, Wall came out of nowhere," Big Cat tweeted.

"That understeer will get you every time," one person said.

"You know she has to be SO freaking embarrassed," another person wrote.

"The Mark Andrews of golf cart drivers," a social media user commented.

Honestly, it's fitting that Ohio State's team went through one more obstacle before starting its championship celebration. Day's squad battled adversity all year long en route to winning a national title.

"It’s a great story about a bunch of guys who have just overcome some really tough situations, and at the point where there’s a lot of people that counted us out (they) just kept swinging and kept fighting," Day said.

Day took a lot of criticism this season, especially after losing to Michigan. If we had to guess, he feels pretty invincible right now. After all, he did survive a golf cart crash.
