While it may have felt like the sky was falling for Alabama fans this past season after Kalen DeBoer led the program to its worst record (9-4) since 2007, things seem to be going just fine on the recruiting trail.
Since June 17, the Crimson Tide have landed six commitments, with their latest being the biggest of them all.
Choosing the Tide over programs such as Auburn, Georgia and Texas, five-star running back Ezavier Crowell announced his pledge on Thursday. He's the second running back in the class, and according to On3's industry ranking, comes in as the No. 31 player in the country.
Although there's still quite a way before he suits up with 2024 Freshman All-American Ryan Williams, the standout wide receiver took to Instagram to acknowledge just how excited he was that the Tide landed Crowell.
This past season for Jackson High School (AL), Crowell was a dominant force.
He racked up 168 carries for 1,964 yards with 31 rushing touchdowns, with his longest coming from 80 yards out. He also proved he can make an impact in the passing game, hauling in nine passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns.
He will look to eventually create a spark for a run game that saw quarterback Jalen Milroe lead the way in rushing this past season with 726 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns. Milroe is no longer in the building, but Alabama
Although DeBoer is known for dialing up a surgical passing attack, this addition makes it clear that the Crimson Tide will not be turning away from running the football anytime soon.
