UCF brought back a familiar face to be the head coach of its football program this past weekend.

UCF hired Scott Frost on Saturday and signed him to a five-year deal after he coached the program from 2017-18. He went 19-7 as head coach during those two seasons before taking the same position with Nebraska.

"Today marks an exciting reunion for UCF Football as we welcome back Scott Frost, a coach who ignites the spirit and passion of Knight Nation," athletic director Terry Mohajir said, via ESPN. "Scott's love for his players along with his leadership, enthusiasm and vision were pivotal in making the decision to bring him back to UCF. Throughout this national search, his passion for UCF was clear. I believe no one wanted to lead our program more than Scott."

His stint with Nebraska didn't go well and he was fired during the 2022 season after compiling a 16-31 record in a little over four seasons at the helm.

Frost is back and will try to pick up from where he left off when he led UCF to a perfect 13-0 record in 2017. He's also set to hire McKenzie Milton to be the quarterbacks coach on his staff.

Milton knows Frost well since he was UCF's quarterback from 2016-18 before he suffered a crushing injury. He played at Florida State in 2021 but only appeared in six games that season, finishing with 775 yards through the air, three touchdowns, and six interceptions.

He helped UCF to a 13-0 record in 2017, finishing with 4,037 yards through the air, 37 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

Before taking this job under Frost, he was working at Tennessee under head coach Josh Heupel as an offensive analyst. Having him back in the fold will hopefully be good for UCF since he was a great quarterback and can help the other quarterbacks on the roster.

The Knights had a down year in 2024, finishing with a 4-8 record.
