SEC, ACC keep fall football plans after Big Ten, Pac-12 postponements

Hours after both the Big Ten and Pac-12 postponed all fall sports due to the coronavirus pandemic, the SEC and ACC announced neither is changing course regarding plans for fall football schedules as of Aug. 11.

The SEC shared a statement from commissioner Greg Sankey in which Sankey said he and others within the conference will continue to monitor developments:

The ACC, meanwhile, shared a statement and explained that "we will continue to follow our process that has been in place for months and has served us well" for the safe return of sports competitions:

Currently, the ACC intends to play an 11-game schedule that includes Notre Dame among its member schools and 10 league fixtures for the 2020 campaign.

The SEC announced a 10-game, conference-only schedule in late July.
