The Texas Longhorns will enter the 2025 college football season as one of the highest ranked programs in the country.
Steve Sarkisian has built a loaded roster with significant depth and many believe the Longhorns are the favorite to take home the national title this season.
Texas has a few players who are the best in the country at their respective positions, like linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., so it comes as no surprise that 10 Longhorns made Dave Campbell's preseason All-Texas teams.
Seven of those players made Campbell's first-team offense or first-team defense. Quarterback Arch Manning, wide receiver DeAndre Moore, and offensive lineman DJ Campbell each made the first-team offense.
Edge Colin Simmons, linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., cornerback Malik Muhammad, and safety Michael Taaffe were included on the first-team defense. Running back CJ Baxter, offensive lineman Trevor Goosby, and new kicker Mason Shipley made Campbell's second-team.
Texas will kick off the season against Ohio State in Columbus on Aug. 30. The Longhorns won't have a tune-up game to work out any nerves or kinks before facing the reigning national champions.
Joel Klatt recently tabbed the Texas vs. Ohio State game as the most impactful game of the year. Although a loss shouldn't significantly impact College Football Playoff implications for either team, the winner will certainly become the heavy favorite to win it all.
