Shedeur Sanders bashes former teammate at Colorado for sharing his story with the media
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

It wouldn't be a day ending in the letter "y" without Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders or his Hall of Fame father "Coach Prime" making headlines for mostly the wrong reasons. What crazy thing did they have to say this time? Surprisingly enough, it wasn't something about how awesome they are. No this time Shedeur Sanders actually went out of his way to bash a former teammate for simply telling his own story to the media.

Max Olson, an esteemed journalist with The Athletic wrote a story on the mass exodus from the Colorado Football program into the Transfer Portal, talking to a number of players who were shoved out the door or left of their own volition. It was an incredible feature piece with excellent interviews, as you can see samples of in the post below.

The quotes from Xavier Smith, a former defensive back at Colorado were especially heart-breaking:

"I was actually getting mad, like tears coming to my eyes. Because, bro, you never even tried to get to know me...He was destroying guys' confidence and belief in themselves. The way he did it, it could've been done with a little more compassion."

And that quote is just one of many that highlight how disappointing Deion Sanders has been when it comes to handling (or mishandling) his roster and players. However, that feature story apparently didn't sit too well with Shedeur Sanders. So he chimed in, quoting the Athletic's post saying:

"[I don't] even remember him [to be honest]. Bro had to be very mid at best."

You can see the post in the screenshot below. Hopefully Shedeur is wise (or humble) enough to eventually delete the post. That sadly is probably not the case.

This is just yet another sign of the hostile, unhealthy culture of Colorado Football. Deion Sanders is going to do things his way or no way. His sons follow suit. If players don't, they get kicked to the curb. And just for good measure, the stand-up exemplary leader of a quarterback kicks them while their down on social media in front of millions of people. Great look, Shedeur. Great look. First round caliber character right there.
