Shedeur Sanders dazzles again, Colorado fans storm field after win

The Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders are giving their fans reason to believe again.

After winning just a single game a year ago, Colorado improved to 2-0 under Sanders with a thoroughly convincing 36-14 win over archrival Nebraska, resulting in the students storming the field.

Beating this current version of Nebraska is not normally the type of thing that should warrant a field storming in Week 2 of the season, but you have to consider the context here.

Not only are Colorado and Nebraska long-time rivals, with Colorado fans consistently annoyed with the number of red shirts that have typically taken over their stadium, but the Buffaloes won just a single game a year ago and have been a dreadful program for the better part of a decade. They are not used to having a team that is not only good, but also exciting and the talk of college football.

Let them have their moment.

Colorado's offense wasn't quite as electric in the first half of Saturday's game as it was a week ago at TCU, mainly due to the offensive line having trouble slowing down Nebraska's pass rush. But fortunately for Colorado, quarterback Shedeur Sanders was up to the task of making things happen on his own and put another dominant passing display on tape.

He finished the day going 31-for-42 for 393 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also scored a touchdown on the ground.

That brings his two week totals to 69-for-89 for 903 yards, six touchdown passes and zero interceptions.

That has not only vaulted Colorado into the top 25, but is also putting him on early Heisman Trophy watch lists.

It still might be too early to completely buy into what Colorado is selling because the schedule is going to get tougher. TCU is a shell of the team it was a year ago, while Nebraska has more problems than you can count.

The Buffaloes also have some real concerns on the offensive line that were very much on display on Saturday that they are going to need to rectify. A better team would have exposed that more.

For now, though, Colorado is enjoying football again and finally seems to be going in the right direction.
