Shedeur Sanders had perfect answer when asked about his controversial interviews

Shedeur Sanders is ready to move on from his highly publicized slide in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Colorado quarterback finally found a landing spot after getting passed on during the first two days of the draft. Despite taking a QB earlier in the draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round.

Sanders hopped on a conference call with local reporters after getting drafted. The 23-year-old was asked if he thought anything in his interview process with teams could have caused him to drop. Instead of assessing what could have potentially gone wrong, Shedeur focused on the “great” interview process he had with his new team.

“I think what happened was I had a great interview and had a great process with the Browns, and that’s why they were able to pick me,” Sanders told reporters, via ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi. “So anything outside the organization is really a [non-factor] for me now.”

Sanders added that he wanted to prove that Browns GM Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski made the “right” decision to pick him.

Several reports noted that Sanders hurt his draft stock during the interview process. The Colorado star was even said to have butted heads with Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

Sanders clearly wants to move forward rather than dwell on matters he can no longer change.

The Browns were not the only franchise that had their eyes on Sanders late in the draft. One surprising NFC team was reportedly prepared to take Shedeur had it not been for Cleveland.
