With Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders not working out at the NFL scouting combine or Big 12 Pro Day, it's becoming more difficult to gauge where he might get drafted. The Las Vegas Raiders were most commonly linked to the quarterback before they traded for Geno Smith.
However, Sanders' relationship with minority owner Tom Brady is real and could be something to keep an eye on. Sanders didn't throw at the Big 12 Pro Day but he was in attendance to support his Colorado teammates who are going to the NFL.
He had a chance to discuss the biggest advice he's gotten from Brady as a player.
"I would say when we spoke, the most in-depth I'll say was early on in my college career," Sanders told NFL Network. "So a lot of things that he would speak on wouldn't register to me until like now. So, now my plan for the next couple of weeks and next couple of months is go back and re-watch all the footage that we talked about. And now register more and how you're saying, 'Turn your hips when you're throwing, create torque.' And all that stuff."
It's clear that Brady was involved with Sanders early in his college career but it's not as clear how close they've remained over the years. The Raiders don't have a need at quarterback right now but Sanders could sit behind and learn from Smith for a couple of seasons.
Las Vegas may have too many other needs to consider a quarterback in the first round so a Brady-Sanders pairing is unlikely to happen at the NFL level.
