Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is taking a predraft visit with a surprising team outside of the top 10.
Sanders is set to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, according to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports. Notably, the Steelers do not pick until No. 21 overall.

Clearly, the Steelers think there is at least a chance of Sanders falling in the draft, unless they are considering an unlikely move up the board. There are some mock drafts that do believe this to be possible, but they are the exception and not the rule.
Evaluators are somewhat split on Sanders, with some questioning whether he is even a Day 1 pick. On the other hand, he has been consistently linked to spots as high as No. 3 overall. Recent odds suggest the most likely outcome might involve him falling somewhere between those extremes.
The Steelers would certainly be an interesting landing spot for Sanders if he does fall. They still expect to land Aaron Rodgers, but he would not be a long-term solution. That would make Sanders more of a developmental prospect, but that might be the case no matter where he lands.
Sanders views himself as a franchise-changing prospect who should be going in the top 10 with ease. His willingness to take a meeting with Pittsburgh, however, suggests he and his camp know that outcome is far from a guarantee.
