Shedeur Sanders Shares Interesting Take on Disappointing Draft Day Slide

Shedeur Sanders was given a big reality check during the 2025 NFL Draft. He went from being considered a top-five pick in the months leading up to the big event to dropping to the top 20 to falling all the way down to the fifth round.

The Cleveland Browns, out of all the teams linked with him (Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers), took a chance on the quarterback prospect with their final pick (No. 144 overall) of the three-day event.

A lot has been said about the former Colorado Buffaloes star following that moment, but he remains focused on preparing for the 2025 season.

During the final episode of his "2Legendary Podcast," which premiered on Wednesday, the Browns' quarterback discussed multiple topics about his past, present and future, including that first night of the 2025 draft. He was asked about which random day he'd like to relive, which sparked a big answer from the playmaker.

"I would relive draft day," Sanders said. "'Cause it's a prime example of why family matters."

This answer suggests that Sanders didn't have the best time watching the teams he interviewed with pass on up him over and over. It was a shock to see him fall out of the first round and then be completely ignored on Day 2, but fans noticed that his big brother, Shilo Sanders, was always joking with him and trying to keep him in good spirits.

His father, Deion Sanders, also shared supportive words for his star QB at Jackson State and Colorado.

Shedeur Sanders reportedly didn't take his pre-draft process as seriously as scouts and executives would have liked. Sanders appears to be over those days, as he's preparing to compete against fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel and veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett for the quarterback starting spot.
