Shedeur Sanders tells Alabama players to 'tap in' at Colorado after Nick Saban's retirement
USA TODAY Sports

In the wake of the surprise retirement announcement from Alabama’s Nick Saban, countless tributes and well-wishes have poured in on social media. One of those was his friend, Deion Sanders, who affectionally said the Tide's coach was college football's GOAT

However, Coach Prime's son took a different approach. Shedeur Sanders "stood on business" and openly told Saban's players to "tap in" with him and what's being built in Boulder.

With the addition of top ten receiver LaJohntay Wester this week, Colorado already boasts the top-rated transfer portal class for 2024. That said, there’s always room to improve, especially in the heart of the defense, with DJ Lundy deciding Wednesday he would withdraw from the transfer portal and head back to FSU

The Buffs already added one Alabama transfer this off-season in defensive lineman Anquin Barnes. They also have a few former Tide players on the roster from last year that followed Charles Kelly to Boulder. If you consider the close relationship between Coach Prime and Saban, we could see a couple more Alabama players end up at with the Buffs.

Colorado's top offensive lineman Jordan Seaton also called for the Tide's finest to "Come Make History" with him and Sanders.

With Saban's retirement, the transfer portal opens up for Alabama's players. There's a 30-day window for them to decided if they want to stay in Tuscaloosa or head elsewhere. Top-rated five-star receiver Ryan Williams already decommitted from Alabama directly after the news of Saban's departure. The 2024 blue chip will now try to find another program before Signing Day on February 7.
