The 2027 quarterback class is starting to hone in on their early commitments before this fall's slate of games gets started. The Michigan Wolverines aren't desperate for talent at the position as they already boast Bryce Underwood and have locked in 2026 four-star Brady Smigiel. But adding to Sherrone Moore's cabinet of talent is nothing short of wise.
After seeing how hard it was to win in 2024 without a dynamic quarterback, there's no surprise as to why the Wolverines are chasing 2027 QB Teddy Jarrard. The No. 2-ranked passer in the class isn't expected to plan in Ann Arbor, but his pending announcement date will give clarity.
Jarrard put his announcement date out to the world, and the scene is set for a July 24 headline piece of news.

Several recruiting platforms project that Jarrard will likely commit to Notre Dame, a rival of Michigan. It’s uncommon for a prospect of Jarrard’s caliber to commit this early, which increases the risk of him flipping to another program later, though.
Regardless of his decision on the 24th, schools pursuing him will continue their efforts to sway him. His commitment could even benefit other programs, as they can tailor their pitches to highlight advantages over his chosen school.
Ultimately, Michigan appears likely to miss out on Jarrard when he announces on the 24th, but the curtain may not be fully closed once the fall or next offseason arrives.
