The Michigan Wolverines have been flipping more than a spatula as of late on the 2026 recruiting trail.
Last week, Sherrone Moore and Co. flipped linebacker Aden Reeder from Wisconsin and offensive lineman Tommy Fraumann from Miami (Ohio).
The Wolverines are now back at it with the news that they've flipped three-star linebacker Kaden Catchings from Flowood, Mississippi. Catching had been committed to South Florida before he took a visit to see the Wolverines, which changed everything for him.
He committed to USF on Oct. 23, visited Michigan for the Wolverines' 21-16 night game win over Purdue on Nov. 1, and now the flip is official. Part of it was Michigan being, well...Michigan. The rest of the credit belongs to linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary.
"It was a great visit," Catchings told 247sports following the visit. "I loved the atmosphere in the stadium."
The "Big House" is always impressive, but Catching connected with Jean-Mary, and there was a definite message from Michigan's second-year run game coordinator and linebacker coach.
["He was just telling me that] this is a place that I can come in and compete," Catchings said.

The three-star also feels that what he does now at Hartfield Academy can be replicated at Michigan, and that's a big deal.
“I think I would fit right in,” Catchings told TheWolverine.com. “They kind of run a scheme like we run in high school. I could be used the same way I am now. I think it really fits me. I liked the way the linebackers played.”
According to the 247Sports composite, Catchings is the No. 109-ranked linebacker in the country. He's Michigan's 24th commitment in a class that's ranked No. 10 nationally.
