Six Teams Named Schools To Watch For Carson Beck

One of the top quarterbacks in the country is about to enter the transfer portal, and he'll have his pick of top programs around the nation.

Former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announced that he would no longer be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, and will instead use his final year of college eligibility for a different program.

Beck's season ended with an elbow injury in the SEC Championship game, and Georgia's season ended with a loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl last week.

With Beck now considering other options, one college football analyst named six schools that the former Bulldog could move to next season.

Rivals' Adam Friedman named Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas Tech and USC as schools that Beck could potentially be interested in.

Michigan and Oregon would give Beck the best chance to win now as traditional powerhouses in a strong conference. USC arguably fits that bill as a member of the Big Ten, but Michigan and Oregon are likely in a more "win-now" state.

North Carolina is an interesting option with the addition of head coach Bill Belichick. If making it to the NFL is Beck's ultimate goal - and it seems to be, judging by his previous decision to declare for the draft - what better way to make that happen than by signing with the greatest coach the league has ever seen?

Texas Tech is a bit of a wild card, but the program has been active in the portal so far this offseason. We'll see if they can land one of their biggest signings in program history in Beck.

Miami seems to be a perfect fit for Beck, both personally and professionally. The team needs a new quarterback after losing Cam Ward to the NFL Draft, and they missed out on another former Washington State quarterback this year in John Mateer.

Beck could be another one-year wonder at the U, much like Ward was this season. It doesn't hurt that Beck's girlfriend Hanna Cavinder plays for the Hurricanes' women's basketball team with her twin sister Haley.

The decision will ultimately be in Beck's hands as he navigates an accelerated recruitment through the transfer portal. We'll find out which school he chooses soon, but it's clear  that the drama in college football exists beyond the four teams remaining in the College Football Playoff.
