Skyler Bell 2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Measurables:

Height- 6’0″

Weight- 185 lbs

Background:

Bell attended The Taft School in Watertown, Conn., where he was a three-star recruit. He committed to Wisconsin and redshirted his first season with the team in 2021. In the 2022 season, Bell started 12 games and finished second on the team in all three major receiving categories. He played in 12 games during the 2023 season and then transferred to UConn in 2024. In his first season with the Huskies, he led the team in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Bell emerged as one of the top receivers in the entire country the next season in 2025, finishing the season in the top five for total receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in all of college football. Bell was named a finalist for the Bilentikoff Award and was a consensus All-American.

Strengths:

Bell was the engine of UConn’s offense in the 2025 season with 101 receptions, 1,278 receiving yards, and 13 receiving touchdowns on the season. Bell is a versatile player and was effective on both the outside and in the slot at UConn. He is a great receiver after the catch. UConn attempted to get the ball in his hands in space often in their offense, and he has the speed, quickness, and elusiveness to be a serious threat after the catch. Averaged over eight yards after the catch per reception in 2025, according to PFF.

Bell is a smart route runner who is good at using tempo to create separation. He is a good contested catch receiver at his size as well, and greatly cut down on the number of drops he had in the 2025 season. Bell can make plays on all levels of the field, has the ability to be a big-play threat, and he ranks third in yards per route run in the 2026 draft class, according to PFF.

Weaknesses:

Bell is a slightly undersized wide receiver. He doesn’t have great play strength and can struggle to create separation against physical coverage. Has just average contact balance after the catch. Bell did not drop the football much in the 2025 season, but prior to last season, he had consistent issues every season with dropping the football.

Potential Team Fits:

Cleveland Browns

Kansas City Chiefs

New York Jets

San Francisco 49ers

NFL Projection:

Bell is a versatile wide receiver who had elite production in college. He also has incredible movement skills, solid route running, and is great with the ball in his hands after the catch. Bell could improve his play strength and needs to continue the success he had with limiting drops in 2025, but with his athleticism, separation skills, and ability to make an impact in multiple different ways he is a receiver who has the potential to continue to have good production at the next level and become a quality starting wide receiver for a team in the NFL.
