The SMU Mustangs picked up a huge recruiting win on Sunday. Four-star receiver Aljour Miles announced he would be headed to Dallas. The Kaufman (Texas) prospect had offers from several top programs around the country, but will stay close to home.
SMU has posted two consecutive 11-3 seasons under head coach Rhett Lashlee and it appears the Mustangs will be competitive in the ACC this year after making the College Football Playoff. As a junior, Miles caught 81 passes for 1,437 yards and 14 TDs with 17.7 yards per reception in 12 games.
At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Miles is ranked as the No. 70 wide receiver in the nation and No. 57 overall prospect in the country, according to 247Sports. He's a physical receiver who will use his length for 50/50 balls. "Consistently maximizes catch windows with superior physical tools. Effective to all levels with encouraging route snap, spatial awareness, and dexterous strength that often wins in a crowd," 247Sports' Gabe Brooks said about Miles.
SMU offered Miles a scholarship nearly a full year ago and kept pursuing the talented receiver with SEC visits on the books. The Mustangs hosted a massive group of visitors this weekend with Miles ready to work.
