Sooners continue to show the world that they aren't playing around when it comes to getting things turned around

The Oklahoma Sooners have been on an absolute streak the last two months when it comes to recruiting, specifically when it comes to recruiting defensive players.

And, even the quarterback position, you could throw in there after they just landed Beau Bentley, as they tend to do, as they have landed so many elite quarterbacks over the last few decades.

But the last few months specifically have been great when it comes to the defensive side of the ball. That's the territory that comes with having Brent Venables as your head coach. On Monday, they landed another defender.

Sooners land four-star EDGE Daniel Norman

Daniel Norman is a four-star edge rusher from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, one of the top schools in the country when it comes to sending defensive superstars to D1 schools. Norman is 6'4" and 230 pounds and has some pretty good size, speed, and power to dominate as a defensive lineman, even in the SEC.

His explosive pass-rushing and relentless play have made him a player that a ton of schools have wanted throughout his recruitment process. And, when you watch the tape, you can see why they would.

Norman committed to the University of Oklahoma in Norman, funny how that works out, picking the Sooners over Miami, Colorado, and UCLA. This was a huge win over Miami since he's from the South Florida area. Oklahoma’s defensive line coach, Miguel Chavis, and head coach Brent Venables had to have been the two who sold him on the chance to shine in the SEC.

This was a big recruiting win for Oklahoma, especially against Miami’s push to keep him local, and Colorado’s high-profile pitch led by Deion Sanders. Norman’s commitment strengthens Oklahoma’s 2026 class, just hours after Beau Jandreau committed, joining his brother.

Norman visited several top schools but chose Oklahoma.
