Wow does Stanford need to end the season with something fun.

Up 21-7 in The Big Game, Cal came roaring back with 17 unanswered points to get the win. The Cardinal won’t exactly be all better if it beats San Jose State, but it could be a whole lot worse to lose and finish 3-9.

San Jose State has had a wonderful first season under head coach Ken Niumataolo with a 6-5 run, bowl eligibility, and with a shot to end with a winning regular season.

After losing three of its last four games, a loss would be a rough way to close.

Stanford vs San Jose State: Who Will Win?

San Jose State’s defense can’t come up with a third down stop, but it cranks up a whole lot of takeaways - it’s 5-2 when coming up with two or more.

Stanford has chilled on the mistakes, but it’ll be happy to oblige - it has six multiple turnover performances in the last nine games. It has 24 on the year, but hasn’t had multiple turnovers in three of the last four games.

But that doesn’t matter if SJSU QB Walker Eget isn’t far, far better than the 4-of-22 day he had against UNLV.

Stanford might not run all that well, but it’ll slow the game down, have the ball for close to 35 minutes, and it’ll hold up when Eget and the Spartan passing game get rolling in the second half.
