Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer told reporters on Monday that starting wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams is battling through two injuries, and he gave an update on his status.

“Ryan’s got a couple of things going on,” DeBoer said. “Will work through an injury with his knee that’s been kinda going on, and so, we’ll deal with that. Got the head issue as well, so we’re gonna address that and even the lower extremity here this week. Pretty good chance we don’t have him this weekend. I think it would probably be week-to-week after that.”

Coleman-Williams started wearing a knee brace during the Mississippi State game, and he was wearing it again against Georgia. On Saturday, the junior wide receiver went down with a lower-extremity injury before halftime, but he returned in the second half.

In the second half, a Georgia defender hit Coleman-Williams in the head, and he was unable to walk off the field on his own. Alabama fans wanted a targeting penalty to be called, but the flag was not thrown.

This play was one of the multiple officiating blunders that night as referees missed Bulldog defender grabbing EJ Crowell’s facemask as well as electing to not call pass interference on a passing play late in the fourth quarter where wide receiver Rico Scott was knocked down by a Georgia defender that wasn’t looking for the football.

Alabama football will travel to Rocky Top and face off against the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will be on ABC.
