Stetson Bennett believes Georgia can play even better vs. TCU

The Georgia Bulldogs are playing for their second-straight College Football Playoff national championship. Ranked No. 1 and on the verge of a perfect 15-0 season, things could be a lot worse for the Bulldogs.

Don't tell that to senior quarterback Stetson Bennett, though. Even off the heels of beating Ohio State, 42-41, in the CFP semifinal at the Peach Bowl, Bennett believes UGA still has room for improvement.

“I think it’s pretty apparent that we can,” Bennett told the media on Tuesday regarding the potential of Georgia playing better this Monday night against TCU (h/t DawgNation). “We opened up the second half with two three-and-outs. Now, part of that is Ohio State is an unbelievable team and they played really well. But, yeah, I definitely feel like we can clean things up and play better than we did.”

Defensive back Javon Bullard agreed with his quarterback.

"I think the whole team can attest that we didn't play our best game, but at the end of the day, it's only one result that matters the most, and that's the W. But there's a whole lot we can fix," he said, per ESPN.

Bullard is right. Georgia did get the win, which matters most in a playoff game, but Ohio State gave the defending national champions all they could handle.

In fact, the Buckeyes had an opportunity to kick a game-winning field goal with three seconds to go but senior kicker Noah Ruggles missed a 50-yarder.

Despite the loss, OSU still put up 467 total yards of offense against Georgia, and Ohio State's offense also picked Bennett off once.

TCU is a different beast than Ohio State, but Sonny Dykes' Horned Frogs did put up 51 points and 263 rushing yards on a very good Michigan defense in the other semifinal, so UGA will not have much room for error in this championship game.

"We're trying to be perfect. And we're trying to do everything that we can to make every play perfect. And when it's not — win or lose — we're not happy with it," Bennett said.

He is right. The Bulldogs are going to have to play perfectly.
