Steve Sarkisian addresses future plans amid Alabama coaching rumors

Steve Sarkisian won a national championship when offensive coordinator at Alabama in 2020, but any more titles he wants to win will come at Texas, not with the Crimson Tide, after the Longhorns head coach appeared to announce his intention to stay where he is and not replace Nick Saban going forward.

Sarkisian's name became linked to the vacant Alabama head coaching position immediately after Saban's retirement plans went public, among other high-profile names, but a recent post on X (formerly Twitter) seemed to indicate that he wants to stay on the Forty Acres going forward.

Sarkisian went 13-12 in his first two seasons as Texas head coach, but in the 2023 campaign he brought the program a Big 12 Championship and its first appearance in the College Football Playoff national semifinal.

This offseason, the Longhorns secured the No. 5 ranked recruiting class and received news that quarterback Quinn Ewers announced his intention to remain with the program going forward, with former No. 1 recruit Arch Manning waiting behind him.

Texas is also set to enter the SEC, alongside rival Oklahoma, in time for the 2024 college football season, so we'll see plenty of Sark in the Southeastern Conference in the future.
