Expectations are sky high for the Texas Longhorns ahead of the 2025 college football season.
Texas will begin the season ranked No. 1 in the Coaches Poll and AP Poll for the first time in school history. Fortunately for the Longhorns, head coach Steve Sarkisian doesn't pay much attention to the rankings and understands how important it is for his team to go out and prove it each and every week.
When speaking to the media on Tuesday, Sarkisian discussed why he chose not to vote in the Coaches Poll. Without hesitation, Texas' head coach simply stated he does not know who the best teams in the country are.
"It just takes time, and honestly to be fair, I don't know," Sarkisian began. "How am I supposed to know? I don't have time on Saturday to watch, so who am I to say this team is better than that team?"

He continued to reiterate that he just doesn't have the time during season to judge how other teams are playing when he has to focus on his own gameplan, recruiting, spending time with family, etc.
Sarkisian's honesty and openness with players, fans, and the media is what many value most about him.
No. 1 Texas will kick off the 2025 season in Columbus against No. 2 Ohio State on Aug. 30.
