Syracuse HC Fran Brown's confession really stinks

Losing stinks.

Nowhere is that more true than at Syracuse, according to first-year head coach Fran Brown.

Brown recently shared too much information with reporters when he admitted that he doesn't shower after losses.

During his amusing confession, Brown said, "It's like I don't deserve soap. I don't deserve to do all that." (h/t On3)

Brown noted he showered early Monday, giving him ample time to marinate in the stench of defeat.

"I ain't even get in the shower until early this morning," Brown said, before noting he at least brushes his teeth.

"That's what I have to do so y'all won't say my breath stink," he added.

Let us be the first (hopefully, not the last) to say this to Brown directly: It doesn't matter whether your team wins or loses. You always deserve soap.

Brown didn't have that problem often at his last stop. Before being hired as Syracuse head coach in November 2023, he spent two seasons as Georgia's defensive backs coach, during which time the Bulldogs went 28-1.

Fortunately for everyone at Syracuse, the Orange haven't lost consecutive games this season.

However, Syracuse (6-3, 3-3 in ACC) is coming off a 37-31 loss at Boston College (5-4, 2-3 in ACC), so Brown's team must get its act together if it cares at all about its coach's hygiene.

The Orange have a tough matchup in Week 12.

Syracuse travels to California (5-4, 1-4 in ACC), which ESPN Analytics gives a 78.1% chance to win. Per ESPN Bet, the Golden Bears are an 8.5-point favorite.

Let's hope someone packs air fresheners for the flight home.
