In 2023, Diggs posted 36 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and four sacks. The former four-star recruit fills a huge void on the roster for the Orange. There has not been a pass-rusher on their roster that has the abilities that Diggs has. After landing a huge offensive piece, head coach Fran Brown now adds an anchor for the defense. Things are all of a sudden looking up for the Orange in 2024.
There are a lot of winnable games on the schedule for the Orange. Their toughest game is likely when they have to play the Miami Hurricanes. Outside of that, there isn’t an opponent that currently looks impossible to upset. Having a quarterback to lead the offense and an edge rusher to disrupt the other team’s quarterback is a good way to rack up wins. Brown likely isn’t done trying to add to the roster. With a couple of great pieces already in place, his recruiting pitch becomes even better.
Can the Orange make some noise in 2024? If they keep landing this type of talent, people are going to have to take them seriously.
