Taylen Green, Arkansas offense hoping to keep hot start rolling vs. Memphis

Following a 41-35 road loss to No. 13 Ole Miss on Saturday, it's become apparent that Arkansas' offense must put up plenty of points if the Razorbacks are going to win football games.

The Hogs travel to Memphis on Saturday for a non-conference road matchup that could be a trap game for Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman.

Memphis is 3-0 after wins over Chattanooga, Georgia State and Troy. While the Tigers have put up their share of points, it's Memphis' defense that has stood out.

The Tigers' defense has allowed 8.7 points per game this season (Troy's lone score was a fumble return), serving as the antithesis to an Arkansas offense that has put up 47.7 points per game through its first three contests.

Combined with a solid Memphis offense, that makes the Tigers a formidable non-conference foe, especially on the road.

If there's anyone Arkansas can look to to bury the Tigers, however, it's quarterback Taylen Green, who has thrown for 877 yards and 11 touchdowns through the first three games of the season.

"We're a totally different offense than what Troy was," Pittman said in a news conference on Monday. "We're not going to do that, I can promise you that.

They play extremely hard and they've got good players. They're a high quarters team, and they're going to give you some things underneath and come up and tackle as long as you can protect. Very different schematics that we have to prepare for."

It was made evident on Saturday that Arkansas' offense will have to light up the scoreboard in order for the Razorbacks to win games this season, and they'll have to find a way through a tough Memphis defense in order to close out their third victory of 2025.
