After leaving Wednesday’s practice on a stretcher, TCU defensive lineman Micheal Ibukun-Okeyode returned home from the hospital, according to Steven Johnson.
“Dykes says he spent two nights in the hospital, but is out now and walking around now,” Johnson wrote via X. “Unclear if/when he’ll return to practice, but sounds like he avoided a major injury.”
No timetable on his return to the field was announced.
Ibukun-Okeyode, listed at 6-foot-5, was sidelined all of last season due to an injury. In 2023, as a redshirt freshman, he appeared in all 12 outings, tallying 2.5 sacks and five tackles for loss (tied for fourth-most on the team).

After playing just four games during his freshman campaign, Ibukun-Okeyode redshirted his freshman season. He committed to TCU out of high school as a three-star prospect and the 23rd-ranked player at his position.
Head Coach Sonny Dykes is entering his fifth season leading the program, after an impressive 9-4 finish in 2024. Following the team’s run to the College Football National Championship game, TCU struggled in 2023, going 5-7.
TCU will look to build off its strong finish last season, it its opening game against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Monday, Sept. 1.
