The TCU Horned Frogs (4-4 overall) intend on reaching a 10th regular-season game by the middle of December.
TCU's program announced on Tuesday that it will host the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (4-3) on Dec. 12, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Louisiana Tech is replacing the SMU Mustangs, who were scheduled to face TCU back on Sept. 11 before that game was postponed due to positive COVID-19 test results and subsequent quarantines impacting the Horned Frogs at that time.
SMU is keeping Dec. 12 open for a potential American Athletic Conference opponent.
"We very much appreciate Louisiana Tech Athletics Director Eric Wood and Head Coach Skip Holtz for helping make this game possible," TCU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jeremiah Donati said in the prepared statement. "We wanted to deliver, as promised, a 10th game to our student-athletes. They deserve the opportunity to take the field one more time in Amon G. Carter Stadium. I am also excited for them, and for our fans, to close out the home schedule with a night game."
TCU hosts the Oklahoma State Cowboys, No. 19 in the Associated Press rankings, this Saturday. Louisiana Tech, meanwhile, plays at the North Texas Mean Green on Thursday.
