Tennessee Titans Bring In Former Florida State National Champion For Workout

There has been a ton of roster movement over the last few days with the majority of NFL teams coming off their opening games of the preseason. Franchises are allowed to have 90 players under contract until August 29, meaning there is still plenty of time remaining for evaluation.

Former Florida State star and veteran cornerback Ronald Darby has stayed busy over the last couple of weeks as he searches for a new team. The 2013 National Champion worked out for the Tennessee Titans on Monday, marking his third workout with an NFL club since late July.

Darby also garnered interest from the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings. He's coming off the second ACL tear of his professional career so teams want to make sure he's fully healthy. If not, Darby may be forced to wait into the season to ink a deal.

The former second-round pick is preparing for his ninth year at the NFL level. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2015 and has also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles (2017-19), Washington (2020), and the Broncos (2021-22) during his career.

Darby won Super Bowl LII as a member of the Eagles when the team defeated the New England Patriots. He has totaled 373 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, eight interceptions, and 90 pass deflections in the NFL.

The Maryland native spent three years at Florida State after joining the program under former head coach Jimbo Fisher as a blue-chip prospect. He earned ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after breaking up seven passes during his first year on campus.

Darby pulled down two interceptions the following year as the Seminoles rolled over the competition en route to a victory against Auburn in the final BCS National Championship. The success continued into 2014 as Darby totaled 43 tackles, one forced fumble, and four pass breakups as Florida State appeared in the inaugural College Football Playoff.

Tennessee has already signed one former Seminole on Monday in running back Jacques Patrick. Will the Titans make it two?
